Hypnotized
Anybody else ever have this experience? Or is it just me?
I've only ever been hypnotized by one book. Not that I haven't read many books that have captivated me; I have. But only one has seemed literally to hypnotize me.
I say this because -- and by the way the book is Solaris by Stanislaw Lem -- I've read it twice and I still couldn't tell you what it's about beyond the blurb on the back cover. And both times, after picking it up, I couldn't put it down again until I finished it.
For me, it's like something out of a Japanese horror film.
